Serving the community since 1979 as a comprehensive victims services agency, our mission is to assist and provide direct services to victims/survivors of violence and crime in Jefferson County, NY.

24-Hour Safe Shelter Emergency safe housing for victims in crisis and their dependent children.Shelter is handicap accessible.
Homeless Housing Licensed shelter for the homeless population and their dependent children.
Counseling: Adult, Child and Adolescent Individual counseling and support groups to primary victims and secondary victims of violence and crime including domestic violence and sexual assault.Services are provided in both individual and group settings.
Advocacy 24-hour assistance to victims of violence that includes safety planning, criminal justice system, medical, housing, and social services.
Immediate Response Team Response Team Advocates respond to the scene of a domestic or sexual assault with police to provide immediate advocacy, crisis intervention, and information/referral services.
Childrens Advocacy Center Program of NNY This center provides direct services to child victims of sexual assault and physical abuse and non-offending family members, using a multidisciplinary team approach at a single point of contact.Services are provided by law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office, the Victims Assistance Center, Child Protective Services, and our two local medical facilities.
Community Outreach and Preventative Training The Victims Assistance Center will provide free trainings on the topics of domestic/family violence and/or sexual assault to any allied professional or human services agency.
It may also be possible for the Agency to set up and staff an informational table at events such as health and/or career fairs.
If you would like to provide your staff or students with a better understanding of the services the Victims Assistance Center provides, it may be possible for us to arrange a presentation to your agency, office, or classroom.
Currently our Community Education/Prevention Specialist provides trainings in several Jefferson County schools covering topics such as Rape Prevention, Teen Dating Violence, and Bullying.
Volunteer Program Volunteers provide emergency assistance, crisis intervention, on call duty and community education.Volunteers must complete an approved Dept. of Health 40-hour training for certification as Rape Crisis Counselors.
Student Intern Program Field placements for students to learn about the agency, its services and mission.
